i think it's time for a story, eh? there is a list of terms at the end of it...
[world with no name, year 1... age of shadow]
though through great effort and skill, the humans were conquered, most anyway... their capital was now besieged by elf and orc alike their northern colonies were no more, destroyed by both undead and demons. the capital of their religion was intact for now, so far the elves have treated their defeated foe fairly... despite the atrocities commited. although as a race, barely hanging onto life and tradition... the elves had much reason for revenge, but did not act on them... however, in areas there has been violence, mainly by the priests and followers, but nothing major, the mere sight of elven legionaires was more than enough to scare them into submission, however in the middle of the first year the nobles, acting under orders of their church, rallied the peasantry into revolt... it was crushed... tensions were high... anything could spark a wave of revenge attacks. in the holy city of Lyren, one such attack happened... long before the occupation, church leaders were spreading their "thoughts" on the elves, that they were vile unconvertable barbarians who deserved, among other things, death and told them that true salvation came from granting them this favour... one captain was sick of tolerating their hate.
"sir, are you sure it's right? what if-"
"silence! it's about time we had our revenge, tell me... do you not hear the spirits of the dead crying out for blood?"
"i-i..... do, sir."
"then it's time we answered them"
the soldiers marched on the cathedral in force, the captain at the lead, he threw open the doors and interrupted the priests' prayers, he told those who did not lose anyone close to them to leave, close the doors and make sure noone came in... or leave...
"the captain walked up to the high priest, drawing his sword, the other soldiers did the same with the others... he leveled the point at the priest's throat and ran it through, many of the soldiers did the same... not one priest was left alive... the entire group left as they had came." - Ashay Durasath, war seer.
the gods, however... rejoiced... with the exception of Alexander... he however almost started a war between him and his wife, arguing that the oni had had no justification other than to avenge the youkai slaughtered... he was promptly put back in line, when his wife asked him of his justification for defending the humans and not shielding the angels from corruption so long ago.... needless to say, the next age had begun... and such a mad world it had become....
end
terms:
oni- male elf
youkai- female elf
elf- blanket term used by the humans to describe the above demons collectively... and used to describe them by the narrator.
